🔍 Privacy at a Glance
1 Introduction
CoinAIfy ("we," "us," or "our") is an iOS application that uses artificial intelligence to identify, grade, and value coins and banknotes from photographs. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you use CoinAIfy, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information.
By using CoinAIfy, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the app.
2 Data We Collect and How It Is Used
2.1 Coin and Banknote Images — AI Processing Disclosure
When you tap Coins, Banknotes, or the Gallery button to start a scan, the photo you capture or select is compressed on your device and sent securely (HTTPS) to a third-party AI service for identification.
Before your very first scan, CoinAIfy displays a consent sheet that clearly explains:
- What data will be sent (your coin or banknote photo only)
- Who will receive it (Google Gemini AI, operated by Google LLC)
- How it will be used (identification, grading, and valuation only)
- That images are discarded immediately after the AI response is returned
You must tap "I Agree & Continue" before any image is transmitted. If you decline, AI identification is unavailable until you grant permission. You may revoke this permission at any time in Settings → Data & Privacy → Revoke AI Permission.
| Disclosure Point | Detail |
|---|---|
| What data is sent | The compressed JPEG image of the coin or banknote you photograph or select from your gallery. No name, email, location, contacts, device identifiers, or any other personal data is included in the AI request. |
| Who receives it | Google LLC — via the Google Gemini API (Gemini 2.0 Flash model), routed through the Manus Forge API gateway. Google LLC is headquartered at 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. |
| Purpose | AI-powered numismatic identification: coin/banknote name, country, year, denomination, estimated grade (Sheldon scale), and current market value range. |
| Retention by Google | Google does not retain images submitted via the Gemini API after the response is returned. Images exist only in server memory for the duration of the request (typically 2–5 seconds) and are discarded immediately afterwards. |
| Retention by CoinAIfy | CoinAIfy does not store scan images on its servers. Only the AI result (coin name, grade, value text) is returned to your device and saved locally. |
| User consent | Explicit in-app consent is obtained before the first scan. Consent is stored locally on your device. You may revoke it at any time in Settings → Data & Privacy. |

2.2 Scan Results and Collection Data
The AI identification result (coin name, country, year, grade, estimated market value, serial number, etc.) is returned to your device and saved locally using your device's on-device storage (AsyncStorage). This data never leaves your device and is never sent to our servers. If you delete the app, this data is permanently removed.
2.3 Location Data (Dealer Finder Only)
If you use the "Find Nearby Dealers" feature, the app requests your device's GPS coordinates. These coordinates are sent to our server, which forwards them to the Apple Maps Server API to search for nearby coin dealers and shops. Your location is not stored. It is used only for the duration of the search query and discarded immediately after results are returned.
2.4 Subscription and Purchase Data (RevenueCat)
Subscription purchases are processed by Apple and managed through RevenueCat, a third-party subscription management platform. We receive only your subscription status (active/inactive) and the plan type (monthly, annual, or lifetime). We never receive your Apple ID, payment card details, or billing address. RevenueCat's own privacy policy governs their data practices: revenuecat.com/privacy.
2.5 Anonymous Install Attribution (SKAdNetwork)
Apple's SKAdNetwork (SKAN) framework sends privacy-preserving, anonymous install-attribution postbacks to our server when the app is installed via an advertisement. These postbacks contain no personal information — they are aggregated, delayed, and designed by Apple to be privacy-safe. The data we store from these postbacks is:
- A unique transaction ID assigned by Apple (not linked to any individual)
- The ad network and campaign that drove the install
- An aggregate conversion value (e.g., "trial started") — not individual behaviour
- Whether the attribution "won" (Apple's attribution logic)
- The timestamp the postback was received
This data is used solely to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns at an aggregate level. It cannot be used to identify any individual user.
3 Third-Party Services
CoinAIfy uses the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy:
- Google Gemini AI (Gemini 2.0 Flash via Manus Forge API): Receives the coin or banknote photo(s) you capture for AI-powered identification, grading, and valuation. Data sent: compressed image only. Purpose: numismatic identification and market value estimation. Retention: Google does not retain images after the API response is returned. User consent: the app obtains your explicit permission before the first scan. Google LLC's privacy policy applies: policies.google.com/privacy.
- RevenueCat: Manages subscription status and in-app purchases. See revenuecat.com/privacy.
- Apple App Store / StoreKit: Processes all payments. See apple.com/legal/privacy.
- Apple Maps Server API: Used for the dealer finder feature. Receives GPS coordinates only during a search query. See apple.com/legal/privacy.
CoinAIfy does not integrate any advertising SDKs, social media SDKs, analytics platforms, or crash reporting tools.
4 Data Retention
On-device data (your collection, scan results, subscription state) is retained until you delete the app or clear its data in iOS Settings. We have no ability to access or delete this data on your behalf.
Anonymous SKAN attribution data is retained on our servers for up to 36 months for aggregate advertising analytics, then deleted.
Scan images and location data are never retained — they are discarded immediately after processing.
5 Children's Privacy
CoinAIfy is not directed at children under the age of 13. CoinAIfy does not collect personal information from any user, there is no special risk to children's privacy.
6 Your Rights
Because CoinAIfy does not collect personal information tied to your identity, most traditional data subject rights (access, correction, deletion) apply only to the data stored locally on your device, which you control directly.
- Access your collection data: It is stored on your device and visible within the app at all times in the Collection tab.
- Delete all your data: Go to Settings → Data & Privacy → Delete All My Data inside the app. This permanently removes your entire coin and banknote collection, AI consent record, and all app data from your device in one tap. Alternatively, delete the app or clear its data in iOS Settings → CoinAIfy.
- Revoke AI data permission: Go to Settings → Data & Privacy → Revoke AI Permission. The app will ask for your consent again before the next scan. Your existing collection data is not affected.
- Manage subscription data: Contact RevenueCat or manage through iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
- Opt out of SKAN attribution: You can limit ad tracking in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
If you have questions about your data or wish to exercise any rights, contact us at coinaify@gmail.com.
7 Security
All data transmitted between the app and our server is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS. Scan images are processed in server memory and never written to disk. We do not store personal data, which means there is no personal data to be breached.
No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. However, because we do not retain images, location data, or personal identifiers, the risk of a data breach affecting your personal information is minimal.
8 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will provide notice within the app. Continued use of CoinAIfy after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
